International Women’s Day matters to us not just because we’re a women-owned, family-run brand but because we know how much it takes to build something and keep it going, and we want to see more women-owned businesses win.

These posts are a snapshot of the everyday ways we try to show up: in our formulas, in our community, and in the standards we stick to year-round.

Birch Babe is a women-owned, family-run Canadian skincare brand — built with equal parts heart and stubbornly high standards. We’re big believers in low-maintenance routines that still feel high quality, because nobody has time for a 10-step identity crisis.

Helping women rebuild

When we say we support women, we don’t mean just with words. We’ve donated thousands of products to women’s shelters across Canada, because self-care shouldn’t feel out of reach, especially during hard seasons.

Woman-led community support

We love women-led spaces, period. Over the years, we’ve supported hundreds of women-led events and organizations with product, prizes, and amplification because community is how small businesses grow.

Collaboration over competition

We make time for 1:1 founder chats with up-and-coming women-led skincare brands to share what we’ve learned, the wins, the mistakes, and the shortcuts we wish we’d had. No gatekeeping.

Women’s health first

Our favourite part: the formulation nerdiness.

Our mom went back to school at 60 and earned two diplomas in organic skincare formulation which is why we still formulate in-house today. It lets us refine through countless iterations and choose certified all-natural ingredients (organic where it makes sense).

Every formula is made to EU-level standards, reviewed by a third-party chemist, and kept Health Canada compliant for skincare that’s high-quality, uncomplicated, and genuinely trusted.

Ethical ingredients

Ingredient integrity is non-negotiable for us.

Every Birch Babe formula is vegan, cruelty-free, and made with certified all-natural, EcoCert, and Fair Trade ingredients (with organic ingredients where possible).

We proudly source through Canadian suppliers and keep formulas natural and effective (often under 15 ingredients) so your skin can get maximum benefits from each ingredient. And yes — many of our products score excellent on the Yuka App. 

High standards, lower waste

Sustainability is built into the details. Our products are packaged in glass, aluminum, and 100% recycled kraft paper or PCR plastic when needed. Because if we’re making products for everyday life, the packaging should make sense for the planet (and future generations).
