How it started: Founding Story
It all began with our adventurous mom's remarkable solo trek across South America, a six-month journey that unfolded six years ago. Debbie, the pioneering spirit behind Birch Babe, embarked on an awe-inspiring hike from the southern tip of Patagonia to the northern reaches of Chile. Amidst the breathtaking landscapes, she couldn't help but witness an alarming amount of waste.
While traversing Patagonia, Debbie appreciated the locals' conscientious attitude toward the environment. Already mindful of what she applied to her skin and consumed, she had grown skeptical of the skincare industry's lack of transparency and social responsibility.
The transformative experience ignited a fervor within Debbie to contribute more to both our bodies' well-being and the health of the planet. Returning home, she immediately immersed herself in crafting cleaner, more responsible skincare and body care products. What began as a personal pursuit soon extended to friends, and eventually, Birch Babe products found their way to festivals and stores nationwide.
Enter Debbie's daughters, Kelsey and Lindsay, both driven by a passion for environmental stewardship and making a positive impact. Joining forces, they transformed Birch Babe into a female and family-led company, infusing it with a commitment to authenticity, transparency, and a shared mission to foster a healthier world for generations to come.
